The new Minecraft launcher is now available to download and install following the release of snapshot 21w44a.
Mojang's iconic video game remains very popular. The good thing is that Java Edition of the Xbox Game Pass has joined for November. Microsoft loyalists will be happy to know that Forza Horizon 5, GTA San Andreas Remastered, and Forza Horizon 5 are now part of the subscription service.
Xbox Game Pass users can get the Java Edition now for free. Players on PC can install an upgrade.

How to download the new Minecraft launcher
You can only download the new Minecraft launcher on Windows 10 beyond the May 2019 update or Windows 11.
It's completely free and is available to get from the Microsoft store. All it does is allow you to launch the base game, Java Edition, and Dungeons from the same place.
However, there are some caveats you need to be aware of. Story Mode is not available via the launcher since it's no more supported. Education Edition is also unavailable and must be downloaded.
How to install a new Minecraft launcher
Mojang states that you must install the new Minecraft Launcher on your C Drive.
The older version does not have to be deleted or uninstalled in order to install the newer one. You can update the older version if you have it.
If you are unsure whether you have the Unified version or the new Windows version, open Settings and select About. Mojang has an official FAQ that provides more information.
